Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Carol was born on June 6, 1940 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to the late Fred and Lessie Boes. She was a graduate of Carlsbad High School. After taking some time off from education to pursue her most precious gift of marriage and family, Carol attended New Mexico State University in 1974. She was able to achieve a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Education and a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering. Carol enjoyed a very prosperous career at IMC in research and development and eventually retired as Chief Chemist for Mississippi Chemical Corporation. Carol's highest achievement and greatest success, however, will always be her family. She cherished the little things like sewing for her three daughters, or attending and helping with their school events. Carol helped form tradition that brought her family together every Sunday for the evening meal. This time was precious to her and she valued the moments she was able to spend with her family. Although every Sunday was different, there will always be a profound feeling of love and compassion, warmth and welcome, and a true place to come and become...a family, and we owe that to Carol. Carol loved to play on her computer and if you couldn't find her playing on that or sewing away recklessly, she would be trying to stay up at night just to catch some late night television. It was no secret that Christmas was her favorite holiday, but it was more than a just a holiday to her. This day defined what she was all about. Christmas meant all of her family would come together for that one special day and gather to share a special exchange and emotion. A time where we could all be...well, just be. Carol is survived by Henry Mall, her husband of 54 wonderful years. She has three glorious daughters, Sheryl Dugger along with her husband Tommy, Linda Hughes along with her husband George, and Jeannie Dickson along with her husband John. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Humphrey and two brothers Ronald and Donald Boes. Carol pined over seeing her grandchildren grow up to become successful adults. Her grandkids include Misti Blackmon along with her husband Jon, Jason Dugger along with his girlfriend Marlene, Taylor Dugger, and Janea Dickson along with her boyfriend Steven. Carol was very fortunate to get to know and love her great-grandchildren, Jayce and Maycelyn, who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by her close and loving family friends Wilma Blair and her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Lessie Boes, her brother Alan, her sister Sandy and her two half-sisters, Ruby Beth and JoAnn. Carol was affectionately known and often referred to as Mom, Mother, Grandma and Ama. That was how she wanted it. Our family is blessed to have had her in our lives and it is something we will always hold dear to our hearts. We rest peacefully now knowing that you can too. You taught us to hold our heads high and now we have something to look at when we do. We love you! Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
