Obituary Carlos Velez, 32, of E. Beech Street, Loving, NM passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be 4 PM 6 PM, Friday, July 31, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Due to COVID-19, seating in the chapel is limited and facial coverings must be worn inside the funeral home. Carlos was born November 24, 1987 in Puebla, Mexico and came to Carlsbad in 1996. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 2007. Carlos was employed at Keystone Pump and Supply for 7 years. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Its been said that if ESPN were a person, he would look, act and speak just like Carlos. He was also a fan of the Lakers and Yankees. Carlos was a hard-working, great man who enjoyed being with his family. More than that, he lived for his daughter, Mia, who was the light of his life. His contagious smile and ability to make everyone around him laugh will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors are his daughter, Mia Navaeh Velez of Loving, NM; fianc, Sierra Chavez of Loving, NM; parents: Felix and Aurora Medina of Perryton, Texas; siblings: Lucero Montoya and husband, Fabian of Perryton, Texas, Stephanie Medina of Albuquerque, NM, Marco Sanchez and wife, Melissa of Carlsbad, NM. Pallbearers will be Fabian Montoya, Marco Sanchez, Jeffrey Chavez, Cruz Onsurez, Fabian Martinez, Ralph Olivas, Nate Velez, Elias Osorio and Joseph Lasky.
