Carlos Acevedo

Carlos Acevedo, 59, former resident, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe. Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. A Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, May 10, 1012, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 De Baca St., Carlsbad. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, May 11, 2012, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Acevedo was born on June 11, 1952 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Esteban Acevedo and Librada Ramirez Acevedo. He was raised in Carlsbad and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1971 and was a parishioner of San Jose Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and two brothers, Rudy and Chunie. Survivors include his daughter and grandson Michelle and Antonio Acevedo, sister Connie Acevedo, aunts, uncles and many cousins that loved him dearly. Pallbearers are Antonio, Rudy and Patrick Acevedo, Adrian Orona, Gerald Alvarado and David Navarrete with honorary pallbearers Clint Dunham and Nathan Martinez.
