Carl J Hester

The celebration of Carl’s life will be held March 19, 2025, at Landmark Baptist Church 509 N. 8th St Carlsbad, NM at 3:00 pm. An additional service will be scheduled at a later date at his final resting place in Texas.

Carl J Hester of Carlsbad, NM, was born on November 12, 1971, in Dallas, TX, to Thomas and Dianna Hester of Corsicana, TX. He passed away on March 16, 2025.

There is so much that could be said about Carl. He was a loving father to Thomas and Mykayla, Jacob, and Chuy Reyna. He adored his grandchildren—Rudy, Charliee, Emelia, Axle, and baby Bhodie. He was preceded in death by the sunshine of his life, Kaylin Escoto-Reyna (Sunnie). Carl loved his family deeply, with all his heart.

Carl had a passion for anything with wheels that went fast. He especially loved his bikes, Camaro, and trucks. He was extremely passionate about his love for sourdough, so much so that he thought every lady in church needed sourdough in their life.

More than just a family man, Carl was a man of faith. He loved the Lord, his Savior, and was a devoted student of the Bible. He was a faithful member of Landmark Baptist Church in Carlsbad, NM, where he served as a trustee and was actively involved in the men’s ministry. He was so eager to serve the Lord, he was issued a speeding ticket, in the church parking lot. However, his greatest ministry was with the youth. Carl regularly hosted youth Bible studies at his home, participated in youth events, and generously sponsored kids for church camp.

He was loyal, compassionate, faithful, enthusiastic, a hard worker, and so much more. It is hard to put into words how much he impacted all those around him, he left a memory for everyone that he knew. He will be greatly missed, by everyone.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Landmark Baptist Church Youth, 509 N. 8th Street in Carlsbad, NM 88220. It's  a place that he spent hours investing and loving.
