Burrise "Dude" Gregston, 90, of N. Howard Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at his home.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Burrise "Dude" Gregston was born January 18, 1926 in Coke County, Texas to Burrise E. and Dixie (Christian) Gregston, Sr. and grew up in Texas. He served his country in the US Navy during World War II. Burrise married Eastena Brown June 26, 1948. He went to work in the mines where he worked over 35 years, retiring in 1989. Burrise was a long time member of Church Street Church of the Nazarene and served on the board at the church. He enjoyed yard work and fishing. Burrise was also a member of VFW, American Legion, D.A.V. and Lakeside Veterans. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eastena "Tena" Gregston; brothers: Clifford, John, Blake, M.R. and Larry Gregston.
Survivors are his son, Roy K. Gregston and wife, Trish; daughter, Linda McDaniel and Brice Wentworth; grandchildren: Michael Gregston and wife, Brandy, Mandy McDaniel, Sarah Wentworth, Dale Chambers and wife, Lori; great-grandchildren: Callie Jo, Cooper, Lailia, Layland and Ila, and numerous nieces and nephews.
