Burgess "Granny" Williamson, 92, of Sunnyview Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at her home.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place.
A memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Burgess Williamson was born February 20, 1923 in Matewan, West Virginia to William and Nora (Thomas) Jackson. She married George Williamson April 20, 1940 in West Virginia. They moved to Carlsbad in 1958. Burgess' joy was raising her children and later being with her grandchildren. She always took time to cook and care for others. Burgess was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Williamson; sons: Danny and Jonathan "Johnny" Williamson; daughters, Mary Williamson, Danetta Gail Williamson and Marsha Lynn Williamson; grandson, Danny Williamson, Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors are her sons: Carl Williamson of Carlsbad, NM Larry Williamson of Ruidoso, NM, George Williamson of Palm Springs, California; daughters: Barbara Schrock of Carlsbad, NM, Nora Brown and husband, Phil of Carlsbad, NM; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are her grandchildren.
