Bruce P. Riggs

Bruce Powell Riggs, 67, of Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Bruce has donated his body to Texas Tech University Health Science Center, and no services have been planned. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Bruce P. Riggs was born on May 31, 1945 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to George Dewey and Edith Geraldine (Powell) Riggs. He was an adventurer and traveled to many places on his Harley. Bruce worked as a truck driver, crop duster and owned a computer store in Carlsbad. He was also a flight instructor for many years. Bruce married Norma Reed in September 2001. He was a warm, loving, kind, caring and generous husband and friend. Bruce enjoyed reading and was always up for a challenge. He liked to build and create projects. Survivors are his wife, Norma Riggs of Carlsbad, New Mexico; stepson, Chris Rossi of Clanton, Alabama; sister, Leslie Mills and husband, Mike of Cedaredge, CO; stepgrandchildren, Austin and Dawn Rossi; nieces, Sheryl Mills and Stephanie Mills.
