Bruce Chitwood

Bruce Chitwood, 58, of Singletree Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away February 20, 2024 at Carlsbad Medical Center.  Cremation will take place and a memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Lee and Pastor Aaron Kayser officiating.

Bruce was born June 4, 1965 in Grants, NM to Stanley and Juanita (Hurst) Chitwood. He graduated from Silver City High School. Bruce attended trade school at TVI in Albuquerque.   He married Debbie McHale October 21, 1995 in Silver City.  They moved to Carlsbad in 2004.  Bruce worked for Phil Madron for 20 years.  He was a Royal Ranger leader since 1984.  Bruce was involved in little league baseball and softball for many years. He loved sowing into children, always wanting to help kids find direction in life. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; son, Craig Chitwood; granddaughter, Aubrey Chitwood and brother, Curtis Chitwood.

Survivors are his wife, Debbie Chitwood; children: Tiffany Clark and husband, Shelby, Corrina Chitwood, Eric Porter and wife, Cassandra, Dustin Rodda and wife, Virginia, Trever Chitwood and Ariyah Chitwood; 9 grandchildren; sisters: Darlene Rushing, Valerie Allen and husband, Ted, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Isaac Gonzales, Owen Chitwood, Aidan Meyers, A.J. Kayser, Chris Twaddle, Phil Madron, and Matt Leroch.
