Brenda Kay Northcutt

Brenda Kay Northcutt , 70, of South Olive Street, Carlsbad, NM was delivered from her suffering on February 14, 2013, and released from her mortal husk to join many friends and relatives who are surely still celebrating her arrival, as they bask in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her soul took flight while her body languished in the high observation area of The Advanced Care Hospital of Southern New Mexico, in Las Cruces, NM. This brought to an end a short, but devastating illness contracted after being sent to recover from a stroke that struck on Christmas evening, 51 days before she was bestowed the ultimate healing. Brenda was born on September 6 , 1942 to Elvie Gustine (Brininstool) Horvath and William "Bill" Edward Horvath in Carlsbad, NM. She arrived while Bill was fighting overseas in Europe, giving extra incentive for him to come home alive. She attended Saint Edward Catholic School, and then Carlsbad High School as a member of the Class of 1960. After high school, she attended Draughn's Business School, where she got her first taste of being an independent adult. On October 20, 1962, she married Jerry Richard Northcutt with whom she remained in love for her entire lifetime. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Willa Dean Horvath (Clay). Survivors include her three children; Kristi K. Northcutt of Carlsbad, NM, Derek Northcutt of Denver, CO, and Mark E. Northcutt of Las Cruces, NM; three grandchildren, Tobi Northcutt and Morgen Northcutt of Carlsbad, NM, and Katy Northcutt of Las Cruces, NM; brother William (Bill) E. Horvath II and wife Margie (Blount), sister Sally Ann Horvath of Semora, NC., brother and sister-in-law Willard and Clogene Townsend of Wichita Falls, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Services will be held at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John A. Burke officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
