Brenda K. Jones

Brenda K. Jones, 68, of Haston Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at her home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, December 5, 2022 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Meador officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.  Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Brenda was born November 4, 1954 in Columbia, Tennessee to Gwen and Betty (Jennings) Brown and moved to Carlsbad as a young girl, graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1972.  She married the love of her life, Steve Jones July 26, 1975 here in Carlsbad.  Brenda graduated from St. Joseph University with a Master’s in Health Care Administration.  She owned and operated Home Care Connection & Hospice until she sold the company and retired in 2013.  Brenda was dedicated to providing the utmost care for her patients and staff.  She was a docent at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park and loved making homemade bread for the homebound and shut-ins at First United Methodist Church.  Brenda served as an ambassador with the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce.  She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Brenda was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Steve Jones; son, Christopher Jones; daughters: Ashley Bock and husband, Cory, Kaitlyn Allen and husband, Daniel; grandchildren: Hunter Bock, Grayson Jones, Abigail Bock, Garrett Jones, Barrett Allen, Annie Bock, Emma Allen and Aubrey Allen; sister, Debbie Gaffney; cousin, Wanda Deringer and husband, Bill; aunts: Doris Brown and Dottie Knapp; mother-in-law, Lucille Jones and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers will be Cory Bock, John Overstreet, Christopher Jones, Daniel Allen, Stewart Jones and Steve Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Bill Deringer.
