Brenda Goodson was born on August 11, 1948, in Holden, West Virginia, to Elza Curtis and Ella Lynn (Trail) Neece. She moved to Carlsbad in 1960 and worked at K-Mart for 28 years. Brenda worked tirelessly as a single mother to raise her daughter, Shara. She was sole caretaker to both of her parents for many years before their passing. Brenda was constantly taking care of others, putting everyone else's needs before her own. She took friends to doctor's appointments and to run errands. Most of all though, Brenda loved taking care of her grandbabies. She enjoyed making her family's favorite dishes such as green enchiladas, potato salad, popcorn balls and devilled eggs. Brenda is loved by so many and will be severely missed. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors are her daughter: Shara Browning and husband, Steve of Carlsbad, NM; brother: Robert Neece of Carlsbad, NM; two grandchildren: Steven Browning of Carlsbad, NM, Kyle Browning and wife, Kimberly of Carlsbad, NM; four great-grandchildren: Alexis, Aspen, Cypress and Kyle, Jr.; cousins, Charles and Doris Thompson, nieces: Lori Whitaker and Melissa Driver. Brenda also left behind several friends that she loved like family: Jenise Jessen, Pam Nesbit, Carol Wheat, Effie, Gayle and Lisa Dingler, Linda Folsom and Mary Walterscheid.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Browning, Steven Browning, Chuck Thompson, Paul Thompson, Don Thompson and David Thompson
