Brant Woolf

July 8, 1952 — December 26, 2024

Brant Woolf, 72, formerly of Carlsbad, went to his heavenly home on December 26, 2024. As per his wishes, direct cremation with Denton-Wood Funeral Home and private disposition of cremains has taken place. A memorial tribute for him will be scheduled later. This workaholic soldier’s jobs were all done as his physical body was finished. “He has fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith.”

It was a wet and stormy morning on July 8, 1952 when Brant Lennon Woolf was born to Rudolph D. and Patricia A. (Townsend) Woolf in Carlsbad, NM. He partially grew up there, Colorado, Japan, Albuquerque and Texas, graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1970.

Brant’s work experience began with being a newspaper delivery boy as a fifth grader while living in Dallas.

In describing Brant as a “jack of all trades” it’s no exaggeration. He’s been a football player, a store clerk, a National Park ranger, a potash & copper miner, an oilfield worker, a U.S. Army command operations specialist, a college graduate, a private contractor, a builder, designer or remodeler of houses, a trailer park, apartments, models, model airplanes, furniture, garages, even Brantley Dam. But he was a demolition worker too.

He was a planter and trimmer of grass, bushes, trees, gardens and sprinkler systems. Brant was a teacher, a sports coach, a rebuilder, repair man of plumbing, cars, appliances, almost anything that didn’t work right.

He was a painter of houses, cars, furniture, scenic pictures and even portraits. Brant was also a housekeeper, cook, seamster, writer and poet. In spite of challenges, he remained a caring, considerate person, a devoted husband, dad, son, brother and uncle.

Yet… Brant’s most important role was servant and follower of Christ, no matter the cost.

Those who preceded Brant in departing were his son; “Rusty”, niece; Karen, nephew; Scott, sisters; Susie and Joan, dad; Dr. Rudolph D. Woolf, in-laws; La Rue, Oleta, Danny & Debbie Harper and beloved puppies; Kyla and Mac, as well as other relatives and lots of friends.

Family who remain include his mother; Patricia T. Woolf (Carlsbad), his wife of 24 years; Sherry Harper-Woolf (Carlsbad), step-daughter; Rochelle Biscaino, former daughter-in-law; Stephanie Martinez, sons; Robert, Ryan (Mary) and Brett Woolf, brothers; Curtis (Margarita) and Mark (Norma)Woolf, sister; Janey Woolf, brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Terry and Denise Harper, former brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Rich Cahill and Marie Woolf, 8 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandsons, an adopted brother; Greg Vaughan, an adorable puppy; Oliver, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to charities of your choice. Pictures and handwritten memories of Brant may be sent to Sherry at 103 S. Walnut Street. Pat’s address is 1201 W. Ural. Thank you!
