Bonnie Maurine Worsham, 93, born October 23, 1917 in Sterling City, Texas, passed away quietly at home on Wednesday, November 10, 2010. She was married on December 23, 1934 to Willis Clayton Worsham, known as "Buck", for 61 years, who passed away on April 10, 1995. She is survived by her only daughter, Shirley Ann Haas of Carlsbad; three grandchildren: Linda Smith and husband, Wade of Rapid City, South Dakota, Greg Mobley of Ruidoso, NM and Mark and wife, Tracy of Gladewater, TX; 12 great-grandchildren: Tosh Johndreau and wife, Jean, Skyler Johndreau, Sienna Johndreau, Amber Mobley, Dillion Mobley and wife, Leslie, Logan Mobley and wife, Sarah, Matthew Mobley, Jazz Mobley, Chris Bentley, Corey Cruz, Logan Mobley (Mark's) and Branden Mobley; 5 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Anna Louise Day and Lois Day; niece, Betty Forrest and husband, Dick of Carlsbad; cousins: Wilda Gillaland, Gale Carter and husband, Mike of Carlsbad. A very special thanks to Jahney Wood who has been a great friend and companion to Maurine the last four years. Maurine was a loving wife and mother, great cook, had an incredible smile that would light up a room. She enjoyed hunting Indian artifacts, loved to play cards, crochet and do yard work. Maurine worked as a nurse for many years at Old Memorial Hospital in Carlsbad. She regularly attended the Local Congregation of Jehovaha's Witnesses. Maurine was also the great-great-great-grandaughter of Betsy Ross who sewed the first American flag. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 4:00 PM at The Kingdom Hall of the English Congregation of Jehovaha's Witnesses, 3301 South Canal Street on the Loving Highway.
