Bonnie Jeanette "Jan" Andrews Tidwell

Bonnie Jeanette "Jan" Andrews Tidwell, beloved wife, memaw and G-ma, passed away peacefully November 16, 2015. She was born to Bill and Jean Andrews on May 7, 1953 in El Paso, Texas. While cruising the drag, a good friend pulled her over. There sitting in the back seat was Chuck Tidwell. Chuck and Jan were married on December 15, 1972. They were married for 42 wonderful years. Chuck and Jan were soul mates, best friends and as many said, a union of "one". Chuck affectionally called her "Stinker". She loved tennis and her tennis buddies. Jan was an avid picture-taker. She took numerous wedding pictures for friends and family. Jan enjoyed being a campfire leader for 7 years and helping her girls in the computer room at Sunset Elementary. Later while her grandkids attended Sunset, she enjoyed helping with AR reading in Mrs. Smith's class. She was always there for her girls, son and grandkids. She loved them deeply. Jan graduated from high school in Carlsbad in 1971 and from NMSU-C in 1990 with two meritorious associates with a 3.9 GPA. She worked for Dr. James Cousins for many years and later worked at ACG for 12 years. Jan was an interment florist for several years and always enjoyed making arrangements for friends, family and several weddings. She loved spending time with her family, walking, reading and playing pickle ball. Jan will always be known for her positive attitude, infectious laughter and smile. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Tim Tidwell. Jan is survived by her husband, Chuck Tidwell; daughters, Jamie Downen and husband, Zach, Aimee Cooper and husband, Andy; son, Chad Tidwell; grandkids: TJ, Holly, Nathan, Brian, Christopher, CJ, Breean "Bree", Cole, Brooks, Heather, Cade, Jeffery, Layton and Lacie; five great-grandkids from Texas and newest addition, Kreelyn Noelle of Carlsbad; brother, Rick Andrews; sister, Suzy Williams. Canyon Street, Carlsbad, NM 88220. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, November 21, 2015, 10:00 AM, Leo Sweet Community Center at Riverbend, 1302 Mission Ave with Mike Veilleux officiating.
