Bonnie G. Pittman

Bonnie G. Pittman, 87, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Landsun Health Services Center. Visitation will be Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, March 5, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Dr. Larry Krueger officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico . Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Bonnie G. Pittman was born on March 4, 1924, in Rising Star, Texas to H.B. and Bernice (Smith) Turner. She graduated from high school in Brownwood, Texas. Bonnie married Asper G. Pittman on January 4, 1941, in Brownwood. They moved to Carlsbad, NM in 1958. Bonnie worked as a bookkeeper at Dcor Furniture for several years and later at Skeen Furniture before retiring in 1988. She was a long time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, A.G. Pittman; two sisters; one brother; and grandson, Ronnie Dawdy. Survivors are her daughter, Laurel Gene Dawdy and husband, Gerald of Granbury, Texas; son, Mickey Pittman and wife, Janie of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Rickey Dawdy and wife, Donna, Shane Pittman and wife, Marilu, and Natalie Dawdy; 8 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
