Blas R. Cordova, Sr., 90, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones. Blas was born on February 3, 1934, in Artesia, NM.

Cremation has taken place, and there will be no viewing. Rosary is scheduled for 9:30 AM Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at San Jose Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will take place at the Carlsbad Cemetery, in Carlsbad, NM. Following the cemetery, there will be a fellowship meal held at the San Jose Church Hall. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Blas enjoyed fishing and working on cars. He loved to play his guitar and would always sing to his family. His favorite guitar was 64 years old. Blas enjoyed fishing by the lower dam and caught many fish using his "magic bait." Blas worked as a mechanic and body man for 40 years. He also worked at Project Gnome. He had 5 daughters and 2 sons who he loved dearly.

Blas was preceded in death by his beloved wife; Ramona Cordova, and daughter; Elia Salcido.

He is survived by his children Blas Cordova Jr., Corina (Louis) Moreno, Virginia (Inez) Franco, Elva (Sam) Villa, Gloria (Robert) Trujillo, Bill Cordova, 14 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.
