Blanche Inez West

Blanche Inez West, 82, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at home surrounded by her family. Blanche was born on December 19, 1941, in Roswell, NM to Walter and Eva Prince.

Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, July 19, 2024, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hedgecock officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM.

Blanche married the love of her life, Travis West on December 2, 1961, in Roswell, NM. They started a family together, and raised their kids in Roswell and Charleston, SC. They then moved to Carlsbad in 1975, and attended Hillcrest Church of God. She lived her life in service to God, and shared her faith with those around her. Blanche also loved to work in her garden, read books, play computer games, and work on quilting and sewing projects. Her family was important to her, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Blanche was preceded in death by her father, Walter Alonzo Prince; mother, Eva Esteen (Bolton) Prince; husband, Travis West; daughter, Patricia Corona; great granddaughter, Heather Catlin; son-in-law, Danny Lambert; brother, Walter Prince; two sisters: Clothel Hedgecock and Annie Connelly; and niece, Susie Connelly.

Blanche is survived by five children: Debra Lambert of Carlsbad, NM; Matthew West and wife, Flora of Bastrop, TX; James West and wife, Melissa of Rino, TX; Roxann Jeffers of Louisiana; and Penny Geiger of Florida; eighteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
