Billy R. Smith, 54, of Idaho Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away April 17, 2011 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Per his wishes, cremation will take place and burial of cremains will be in Mineral Wells, TX. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Billy R. Smith was born October 29, 1956 in Mineral Wells, TX to Billy Tom Smith and Earleta (Davis) Smith. He worked most of his life as an auto mechanic and a short time in the oil fields. He loved riding his motorcycle. "If he couldn't fix it, it wasn't broke." Billy was a caring and kind son, husband, dad, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father. He is survived by his mother: Earleta Tirrell of Mineral Wells, TX; wife, Kathy Smith of Carlsbad, NM; son, Donny Smith and Shadawn Snow of Carlsbad, NM; daughters: Malinda Smith of TX, Billie Renea Smith of Carlsbad, NM; step-son, Jeremy Wooten of Carlsbad, NM; step-daughter, Sandy Wooten of Dallas, TX; 8 grandchildren: Kevin, Christopher, Madison, Cody, Brittany, Raul, Thomas and Cayd; 6 siblings: Shiela Brown and husband, Gary of Granbury, TX, Glenda Taylor of Abilene, TX, Rusty Smith and wife, Kris Ann of Carlsbad, NM, Terry Smith of Mineral Wells, TX, Melissa Foust and husband, Mark of Lipan, TX, Peggy Bridges of Mineral Wells, TX; aunt, Patsy Patterson of Mineral Wells, TX; uncle, Harold Davis of Austin, TX; mother-in-law, Sandra Foster of Mesquite, TX; father-in-law, Thomas Trevathan of Mineral Wells, TX and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
