Billie J. Cutrer, 83, of East Blodgett Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM, Monday, August 6, 2012, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Private family services will be held. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Billie J. Cutrer was born on February 25, 1929, in San Francisco, California. She was a photographer for the Monroe, Louisiana Fire Department. She was very conscience and precise at documenting every aspect of her job. Billie also worked as a freelance photographer for the local newspapers. She married Preston "Pete" Cutrer in 1947 in Monroe, Louisiana. Billie enjoyed cooking, being with family and friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the old classic movies and was a big fan of John Wayne. Billie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Preston "Pete" Cutrer in 1997; son, David Preston Cutrer in 2007; and brother, Leroy Brothers in 2006. Survivors are her son, Paul T. Cutrer and wife, Donna of Carlsbad, NM; daughters: Diane Lewis and husband, Keith, Carol Ortiz, Shara Walterscheid and husband, Timmy, Nancy Britain, all of Carlsbad, NM and Laura Childress and husband, Brad of Arlington, Texas; numerous other family members; and close family friends, Will Wyatt and Felicia Hill. Pallbearers will be Tommy Brown, Brad Childress, Keith Lewis, Timmy Walterscheid, Craig Goldfus, John Fernandez, Will Wyatt; Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren: Kim Azzinaro, Tommy Brown, Genie Brown, Kirstin Lewis, Bryan Weckiewicz, Deanna Fields, John Fernandez, Angela Fernandez, Kandus Cutrer, Brandon Childress, Courtney Childress; great-grandchildren: Whitney Azzinaro, Courtney Azzinaro, Haliegh Brown, Aydin Cutrer, Max Fields, Bryson Davis, Mason Lawrence, Isiah Fernandez, Matthew Fernandez, Angelica Armstrong, Taylor Weckiewicz, Seth Salcido, Chandler Brown, Taryan Salcido and Allisyn, and great-great-grandchildren: Sydney Azzinaro and Logan, expected in November.
