Billie McNew, 84, of W. Riverside Drive, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 in El Paso, Texas.
Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, July 8, 2016, 10:00 AM, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Bacon officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Billie McNew was born August 18, 1931 in Lamesa, Texas to Albert James and Ola Mae (Jeter) Taylor. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1948. Billie attended South Plains Business College earning an associate's in Accounting. She married Joseph T. McNew February 13, 1949 in Lamesa, Texas. Billie worked in the ASCS office in Texas several years. They moved to Carlsbad in 1960 where Billie started her bookkeeping and accounting business, retiring in 1992. Her civic organizations included the American Business Women's Association, Christian Women's Club, Gideon's International Auxiliary. Billie was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Department Director over 20 years. She enjoyed quilting, garment design, traveling and collecting antiques. Billie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayland McNew; brother, Donald Lee Taylor and sister, Nettie Mae Mitchell.
Survivors are her husband, Joe McNew of Carlsbad, NM; grandsons: Tobyn McNew and wife, Jenell of Carlsbad, NM, Vince McNew and wife, Shannon of Centinial, Colorado; great-grandchildren: Connor McNew, Keaton McNew, Madison McNew, Lyseah McNew and Austin McNew; sisters: Wanda Jackson of Lewisville, Texas, Louise Huckabee of Ft. Worth, Texas niece Reba Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews.
