Beverly "Granny" M. Gillock

Beverly M. "Granny" Gillock, 76, of Gillock Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at her home. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Beverly will be laid to rest along with her son, Buddy Barnes by her side at a Graveside Service scheduled for Friday, August 26, 2011, at 10:30 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with J. D. Brown and Pastor Michael Lee officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Beverly Marie Gillock was born to Hank and Robbie (Marable) Adams in La Jolla, California on April 21, 1935. She enjoyed gardening and her art work. Taking care of the entire family was always a priority for her. During the past several years she devoted herself unselfishly to providing care for her granddaughter, Kayleigh and her loving mother. She was preceded in death by her father, G. H. Adams; brother, Bob Adams; son, Buddy Barnes; grandson, Austin Calderon and daughter-in-law, Raylene Barnes. Survivors are her husband of 48 years, Bill Gillock, Jr. of Carlsbad, mother, Robbie Adams; five children: Bobby Barnes and wife Cathy, Bonnie Brown and husband, Jack, Becky Calderon, Billy Barnes and wife, Angie, Buddy Gene Gillock; ten grandchildren: Julie, J.D., Adam, Dustin, Amy, Amber, Kyle, Lisa, Henry, Briana; 16 great-grandchildren and two brothers: John Adams and Lawrence Adams and wife, Marsha.
