Betty H. Wilcox, 96, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Lakeview Christian Home.  Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Monday, March 20, 2023 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Associate Pastor Kevin Pence officiating.  Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Betty was born July 12, 1926 in Dodridge County, West Virginia to James Harrison and Doris Evangeline (Davis) Fletcher.  She graduated from high school in Utica, Michigan.  Betty married Ed Wilcox December 1, 1945.  Because of Ed’s service in the U.S. Air Force, they lived in Asia, Europe and the United States before his retirement.  During retirement they lived in West Virginia.  In 2017, Betty moved to Carlsbad to be with her daughter. She enjoyed playing the organ for her church in Salem, West Virginia.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed Wilcox; son-in-law, Tommy Moots and brother, Fred Fletcher.

Survivors are her son, Jeff Wilcox and wife, Marlene; daughter, Jennifer Moots; grandchildren: Jon Cox and wife, Jana, Sarah Wilcox and husband Harold Locke, Zack Wilcox; great-grandchildren: Austin and wife, Elyssa, Jonathan and Charli K.; great-great-grandchildren: Madilyn and Mason and numerous nieces and nephews.
