Betty J. McCabe, 76, of Turkey Canyon Road, Queen, New Mexico, passed away May 21, 2011 at her home.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place at a later date.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Betty J. McCabe was born November 20, 1934 to Harlen and Della (Terry) Gullett. She moved to Carlsbad in 1958. Betty worked at Corner Drug for many years before retiring in 1994. She married Jerry McCabe August 28, 1981 in Roswell. Betty was a volunteer for the Queen Fire Department for many years. She absolutely loved nature and the life at Queen. Betty enjoyed fishing as well. Most importantly she cherished the time with her family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, daughters Elizabeth Coffey and Sandra Weeaks, sons Carl Lyle Williamson and Larry Michael Williamson, grandsons Jason Barnes and Henry Upton, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her husband Jerry McCabe; children Connie Hargrove and husband, Larry of Alvarado, Texas, Deborah McGinnis of Queen, New Mexico, Harold "Rusty" Williamson of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Terry Williamson of Carlsbad, New Mexico and Ele Cox and husband, Jeff of Carlsbad, New Mexico; 21 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 15 great great grandchildren; one sister, Madonna Clay.
