Our beloved mother, Betty Hill Gentry Lindley was called home Saturday, December 10, 2016. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, December 16, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Cavern Baptist Church with Pastor Dick Means officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Betty Hill Gentry Lindley was born October 14, 1947 in Hamilton, Texas to Henry and Faye (Brewer) Hill. She graduated from Dell City High School and attended Nixon Clay Commercial College in Austin, Texas. Betty moved to Carlsbad in 1981 and was co-owner of Gentry Equipment Sales. She went to work for the State of New Mexico in 1991 where she retired with the Income Support Division. Betty enjoyed cooking, computers, gambling and traveling. The highlight of traveling was Niagara Falls and coming back down through New York. Betty adored her family, especially the time spent with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Faye Hill; Johnny Gentry, Carl Lindley, Frank Hunt and brother, Richard Hill. Survivors are her son, John Gentry of Carlsbad, NM; daughters: Vicki Collis and husband, Gary of Carlsbad, NM, Cindi Castillo and husband, Rick of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Chelsey Coleman and husband, Shawn, Lacey Collis, Gary Collis, Jr. and wife, Summer, Brooklyn Becker, Jarek Castillo, Logan Gentry, Emilee Gentry, and Coby Gentry; 5 great-grandchildren; beloved dog and furbaby, Angel; brothers: David Hill and wife, Alma, Ken Hill and wife, Lori and several nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers are all of her grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to B.P.O. Elks Lodge, #1558, PO Box 249, Carlsbad, NM 88221 Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
