Bette Jane Provancha Frier

Bette Jane Provancha Frier, 60, former Carlsbad resident and an Artesia resident since 2000, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at her home in Artesia, NM. Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2012 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside Services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 19, 2012, 10:00 AM, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park. There will be a procession to the cemetery leaving Denton-Wood Funeral Home at 9:00 AM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Bette Jane Provancha Frier was born on September 20, 1951 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Allen Dwight and Mable Darline (Brooks) Provancha. She was a school bus driver in Lovington and Carlsbad. Bette Jane was employed by IMC (now Mosaic) from 1979 until 1993, people would remember her as "Bette Boop". She enjoyed gardening and yard work. Bette Jane was a lifetime member of D.A.V. Auxiliary and was very active with the senior Citizens Center in Artesia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Darline Provancha. Survivors are two daughters: Cynthia Lester and Duane Wenzel of Tucson, AZ, Jonna Lee Williams of Roswell, NM; four grandchildren: Kendra Lester of Artesia, NM, Tiffany Walker of Carlsbad, NM, Jay Jay Lester of Carlsbad, NM, Kylene Cain of Artesia, NM; four great-grandchildren: Kloie Clark, Hunter Lester, Braydon Boykin, Anabella Cain; sister, Cynthia Eaton and husband, Larry of Arkansas; brother, Gerald Provancha and wife, Virgi of Texas and several other family members. Pallbearers will be James Lester, Joseph Williams, John Cain, Jay Jay Lester, Tommy Bleeker, Brandon Boykin and Duane Wenzel.
