Bertie Tankersley Knox, 96, of E. Parker Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Carlsbad Medical Center.
There will be no visitation, cremation will take place.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Friday, January 17, 2014, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David W. Rogers officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Bertie Tankersley Knox was born September 20, 1917 to Robert and Anna (Taylor) Tankersley at Rockwood, Tennessee. She married Jack Day Knox on May 25, 1935 at Clinton, Tennessee. He passed away on November 28, 1984. Bertie worked for Dr. Sam Oliveto in Price, Utah and retired as a Dental Assistant. She was a member of "Good Sam's Club", Chapter Balance Rockers, Price, Utah. Bertie was a member of Landsun Auxiliary and Hospice. Thanks to Dr. Mark Howard and staff and Golden Services for their special care.
Survivors are her daughter, Anna Sue Stone and husband, Jim of Carlsbad, NM; grandson: James Lee Stone and wife, Diane of Cushing, OK; granddaughter, Nancy Rogers and Ernie Carlson of Carlsbad, NM; great-granddaughters: Cortney Rogers of Kerrville, TX, Dr. Jackie Blanchette and husband, Jerone of Tijeras, NM; sister, Doris Brown and husband, Norm of Westerville, Ohio.
