Bennie L. Neatherlin

Bennie L. Neatherlin, 82, of Monte Vista, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at his home. There will be no public visitation A Graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery New Section with Jimmy Neatherlin officiating. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Bennie L. Neatherlin was born January 29, 1933 in Virden, New Mexico to Hi and Julia L. (Lewis) Neatherlin. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1951. Bennie served his country in the US Army. He married Ruby J. Wise on June 29, 1953 here in Carlsbad. Bennie went to work in 1959 for PCA and retired from Eddy Potash after 38 years of total service. He was affectionately known to his grandchildren as "Pa Ben". He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby J. Neatherlin; brother, James H. Neatherlin and sister, Emma Hickman Survivors are his son, Bennie J. Neatherlin and wife, Donna of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Notha Stevens and husband, David of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Brian Stevens, Jesse Stevens and wife, Tiffany, Leslie Kingston and husband, Daniel, Leanna Furlow, Jodi Gregory and husband, Mark, Stacey Holmes and husband, Chad; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings: Julia R. "Doodie" Neatherlin of Carlsbad, NM, John L. Neatherlin and wife, Frances of Carlsbad, NM, Mary Eklund and husband, Don of Gilbert, AZ and numerous nieces and nephews.
