Ben Burnett

Ben Burnett, 64, of Paisano Street, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Carlsbad Medical Center. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 13, 2013, 11:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Saul Rocha officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ben Burnett was born January 9, 1949 in Carlsbad, NM to Clyde K. and Lula A. (Thompson) Burnett. He married Elaine Skaggs on September 4, 1987 in Carlsbad. Ben worked for United Salt for 27 years, retiring in 2005. He was a member of the local car club and enjoyed classic cars. Ben also enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Caleb Stockwell; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors are wife, Elaine Burnett of Carlsbad, NM; three daughters: Rhonda Bryant and husband, David, Nikki Bickerstaff and husband, Kris, Jennifer Smith and husband, Steve, all of Carlsbad, NM; son, Brady Bennett and wife, Jaslyn of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Johnnie Bryant, Chance Stockwell, Jamie Bryant, Shayna Barnett, Sumer Bickerstaff, Saydie Bickerstaff, Kiaya Lecher, Ashton Smith, Taryn Smith, Tracer Lewis, Trustin Lewis; great-grandchild, Caiden Stockwell and sister, Wanda Shirley and husband, Lyndon of Carlsbad, NM.
