Beatrice "Kichie" Guerra

Beatrice (Kichie) Guerra, 73, of Montclair St., Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away May 31, 2010 at her home. Per her wishes, there will not be a public viewing prior to the Vigil Services. A Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, June 3, 2010, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, June 4, 2010, 2:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine M. Jankowski OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Beatrice (Kichie) Guerra was born December 6, 1936 in Marfa, Texas to Ysabel and Margarita (Alvarez) Leiba. Beatrice attended grade school in Marfa, Texas. She moved to Carlsbad as a child in 1947. She married Hector S. Guerra on May 17, 1959. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was instrumental in caring for her family. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Ysabel and Margarita Leiba; sisters, Adelaida Hernandez and Lilly Baeza. Survivors are her husband, Hector S. Guerra; children; Hector Harvey Guerra, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Sylvia Morgan and husband, Drew and Greg Guerra and wife, Alma all of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren; Harvey Guerra, Jr. and wife, Sarah, Gabriel Guerra and fiancee Ashley Tiller both of Carlsbad, NM, Ronnie Benavidez, II of Amarillo, TX, Isaiah Morgan, Izabella Morgan, Greg Guerra, II and Gabriella Guerra all of Carlsbad, NM; great-grandchildren: Brittney Guerra, Savannah Guerra and Mariah Guerra and sister Evangelina (Vanjo) Estrada and husband, Gus all of Carlsbad, NM. Pallbearers will be Harvey Guerra, Jr., Gabriel Guerra, Greg Guerra, II, Jesus (Chuy) G. Fierro, Isaiah Morgan and Anthony Granger. Honorary pallbearers will be Gaby Guerra, Izabella Morgan, Brittney Guerra, Savannah Guerra and Mariah Guerra. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
