Beatrice Ornelas Alirez

Beatrice Ornelas Alirez was born in Carlsbad N.M. to Francisco D. Ornelas and Angelita F. Ornelas on December 18, 1956. She passed away at Covenant Medical Hospital in Lubbock, TX after an extended illness on February 26, 2024. 

Beatrice was a homemaker at heart, always looking forward to the holidays and family gatherings. She loved to cook and have everything in its place. Her energy and love created a warm, loving home.  Beatrice was a unique woman. She was family-oriented, fiercely loyal to family, kind-hearted, stern, funny, very Patriotic, and most of all a servant to the Lord and her faith. She had many hobbies, but her pleasure was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be missed forever.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Ornelas, Jr.; sister, Linda Hinojos; uncle, Enrique "Ricky Rocks" Flores; her grandparents: Enrique Flores and Librada Flores.

Surviving Beatrice is her husband of 45 years, Ernesto Alirez; her children: Angela Granado and husband, Lawrence, Jaime Grijalva, Anna Lujan and husband Kiki, and Vanessa Alirez and all her precious grandchildren. Beatrice is also survived by her sisters: Ida Parraz and husband, Alejandro, Yolanda Garcia and husband, Albino, Irma Pena and husband, Tony and Raymond Ornelas and wife, Rosemary. She was also Auntie Bea to many, many nieces and nephews. 

Rosary and prayers will be recited Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:00 am at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation and services have been entrusted to Denton-Wood Funeral Home in Carlsbad, N.M.
