Bea Haley Soules, 52, of Townsend Rd., passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2017 and 9:00 AM to noon, Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Land and Pastor Gary Stafford officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Bea Haley Soules was born March 17, 1964 in Snyder, Texas to Virgil and Clara (Tutor) Haley. She moved to Carlsbad with her parents as a young girl. Bea graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1982 and attended NMSU-Carlsbad. She married Charles Ray Soules January 9, 1987 on USMC Air Station, Tustin, CA. She worked in the trauma unit at Western Medical Center and in 1988 their son Brian was born in that same hospital. They returned to Carlsbad in November of 1988. Bea owned and operated C&B Recycling and Charlie's Diesel with her husband for 20 years. She also owned and operated C&B Self Storage the past 7 years. Bea was a member of First Baptist Church where she was actively involved with numerous ministries including Vacation Bible School, Upward Basketball, greeting ministry, worship choir, and Adult Sunday Department Coordinator. Her hobbies included camping, anything outside in the sun, scrapbooking, but her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Bea was preceded in death by her parents and brother Brian Haley. Survivors are her husband, Charlie Soules, son: Brian Soules, father-in-law: Bobby Soules, brothers-in-law: Robert Soules and wife Stacy, Richard Soules and wife, Kathy, David Soules, Larry Soules and wife, Cheryl as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or the First Baptist Church Music Ministry Scholarship Fund.
