Barbara "Bobbie" Wood Trotter

Barbara "Bobbie" Wood Trotter, 86, of South Ash Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away with her children and family surrounding her on July 19, 2009 at her home. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, 2009, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Tarvin officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Barbara Wood Trotter was born April 30, 1923 in Hope, New Mexico to William Thomas and Della Pearl (Mills) Wood. She married O. J. Trotter on May 18, 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, O. J. Trotter; son, Melvin; sisters: Willie Turner, Mary Crouch and Iva Nethery; brothers: Elmer and Johnny Wood; grandchildren: Tammy Walker and Ruben J. Smart. Survivors include three daughters: Pearl Smart and husband, Junior, Shirley Walker and Alma Wright; son, Jay Trotter and wife, Rhonda all of Carlsbad, NM; brother, George Wood and wife, Lucille; sister, Edith Seeley; nine grandchildren: Shawn Walker and wife, Stacy, Alma Lane and husband, Joe, Sherry Vasey, Michael Smart, Stephanie Weldy, Shane Wright and wife, Trista, Ashley Trotter, Amanda Trotter, Timothy Trotter and wife, Kasey; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Pallbearers will be Shawn Walker, Shane Wright, Timothy Trotter, Darren Lane, Mike Smart and Terry Parker.
