Arturo "Art" "Tiny" Hernandez, 71, of West Cherry Lane, Carlsbad, NM, passed away October 24, 2013 at his home.
Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2013, 2:00 PM, at Blodgett Street Baptist Church with Pastor David Prell officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Arturo "Art" "Tiny" Hernandez was born August 13, 1942 in Juarez, Mexico to Luis and Feliciana (Castillo) Hernandez. He was a lifelong resident of Carlsbad, graduating from Carlsbad High School. In 1970 he married Bobbie Bingham and she preceded him in death in 1999 after 30 years of marriage. He later married Beverly on June 8, 2002. Art retired as the working foreman for the City of Carlsbad Airport on April 1, 2012 after 19 years of service. He served in the Army at Fort Bliss and served in the National Guard for 8 years. Art was a member of Blodgett Street Baptist Church. Woodworking was his passion. He enjoyed visiting with everyone and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by parents; step-dad, Cosme M. Flaco; sisters: Rosa Flaco, Yolanda Flaco and step-son-Jerry Peacock.
Survivors are his wife, Beverly Hernandez of Carlsbad, NM; son, Michael Hernandez and wife, Kim of Carlsbad, NM; step-children: Randy Peacock and wife, Nita of Carlsbad, NM, Michelle Castillo of Carlsbad, NM, Eric Caldwell and wife, Michele of Springfield, Missouri, Tammy McDonald and Robert of Carlsbad, NM, Amber Dunn of Carlsbad, NM; brothers: Ylario Flaco and wife, Liz of Carlsbad, NM, Joe Flaco of El Paso, TX, Johnny Florez of Florida; sister, Josie Torrez of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren: Jolie, Tara, Kelsey, Ashley, Michael, Savanna, Cody, Christopher, Dallas, Sydney, Kathryn, Verity; great-grandchildren: Ryan, Kaylen, Sophia, Grayer, Aedan, Ellie and mother-in-law, Avanelle Wilson of Greenfield, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be George West, Robert McDonald, Joe Mata, Michael Elizondo, J. R. Flaco and Chris Atwood.
