Arthur "Artie" Castaneda

Arthur "Artie" Castaneda, 51, former Carlsbad resident, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2011. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Vigil is scheduled for Friday, May 20, 2011, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2011, 1:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Arthur Castaneda, former resident, passed away April 27, 2011. He was born September 16, 1959 in Carlsbad, NM. Artie had a great love for his family and a unique gift and ability to train and work with animals. He was preceded in death by his father, Aurelio Castaneda, Sr. and grandson, Malachi Gonzalez. Survivors are two daughters: Jennifer Castaneda of Las Cruces, NM, Angie Olivo and husband, Rudy Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Fabi Castaneda of Garden Grove, CA; mom, Carmen P. Castaneda of Carlsbad, NM; three granddaughters; eight siblings: Chris Rascon of Carlsbad, NM, Barbara Hutson of Houston, TX, Aurelio Castaneda, Jr. of Garden Grove, CA, Mark Castaneda of Garden Grove, CA Jeanette Ford and husband, Sam of Ft. Stockton, TX, Angela Lopez of Garden Grove, CA, Danielle Salinas and husband, Jeff of Freemont, CA, Melanie Lopez of Garden Grove, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.
