Antonio "Tony" Guevara

On Monday, November 21, 2022, Tony Guevara Jr, loving father, grandpa, brother and son, passed away at age sixty-one. Tony built a name for himself working and owning his own business in Pest and Weed Control for over 35 years in the Carlsbad area. Tony was a passionate believer and devoted follower of Christ, deeply committed to Oasis Church and its community.
Tony was best known for his quick-witted humor, hard work, and generous spirit. He was always the life of the party and made sure everyone in the room knew that. On his downtime you could catch him at the gym or at one of his grandkid’s sports games yelling at the refs for making, what he assumed, were bad calls. Tony was a firecracker but loved and was loved by so many. He had so many friends that he cared for deeply and I’m sure there are many of them with a good story or two to tell.
He is survived in death by daughters: Tristen Hamilton and husband, Tony Hamilton, Tarin and husband, John Sneathen and Neveah Guevara; sons: Aaron Guevara, Val Guevara, Tony Guevara; grandkids: Niyah, Nico, Nalani and Nola Hamilton and Noah and Nash Sneathen, Ava, Michayla, Micah, Mazikeen Guevara; mother: Jane Guevara; sisters: Maria Guevara, Selina Guevara and Henry Lopez, Cory and LeeRoy Guevara, Valerie and Scott Branson; brothers: Orlando ‘Erly’ Guevara, Rolando ‘Roly’ Guevara, Obbie Guevara, Mario Guevara, and many nieces and nephews.  Tony was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Guevara Sr.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Oasis Church, 802 S. Main St., Carlsbad, NM 88220, with Pastor Gabe Rubio officiating.
