Antonio C. Fuentez, Sr.

Antonio C. Fuentez, Sr., 93, of 206 South Fifth Street, Loving, NM departed his loving family to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 11, 2024. He was born in Toyahvale, Texas to his now deceased parents the late Gregorio and Cleofas Fuentez. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Romona O. Fuentez; daughter, Carolina F. Duran; sons: Enrique Fuentes and Leonardo Fuentez; sister, Felipa F. Garcia and her husband, Lino Garcia of Muleshoe, TX; brother-in-law, Marine-Frank (Pancho) D. Ornelas and his wife, Angela; son-in-law (Army Veteran) Manuel D. Duran; granddaughter Carla F. Duran; grandson, Marine-Danny Lee Duran; great-grandson, Sergio M. Duran; niece (Maiden) Linda F. Ornelas and nephew, Marine - Frank F. Ornelas, Jr.

Antonio is survived by daughters: Gloria Duran of Loving, NM, Patricia O. Fuentez, Lovington, NM; sons: Antonio Fuentez, Jr., Ricardo O. Fuentes, Sr. (Elva) and Jose Luis Fuentez, all from Loving, NM; Rolando O. Fuentez, Sr. (Mary) of Carlsbad, NM, and Gerardo Fuentez (Gordie) of Lovington, NM; Daughter-in-law Pricilla Fuentes of Hobbs; Brother-in-law Bobby D. Ornelas of Carlsbad, NM, Nephews and Nieces: Yolanda Mendoza, Rafaela Valverde, Juantia Del Toro, Anzelma Garcia, Beatrice Garcia, Frank Garcia, Salamon Garcia, Lucas Garcia, Greg Garcia and Ruben Garcia, all from their grassroots of Muleshoe, TX. Antonio had 27 Grandchildren, 56 Great-grandchildren and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Antonio was well known for his wit and excellent Lather and Carpentry and management skills. He was a Life and Retired Member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Union Local of Albuquerque, NM.

Public Viewing will be Thursday, January 18, 2024, at the Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel, 1001 N. Canal Street, Carlsbad, NM, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, immediately followed by the Christian Memorial Service led by Pastor Greg Fuentez at 11:00 AM, at the same Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, NM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 2:30 PM with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating.  Burial will Immediately follow at the Loving Cemetery Located on North Nymeyer Road, NE of Loving, NM.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Ricky C. Fuentes, Jr., Derek Galindo, Jeremy F. Ramirez, Patrick Galindo, Daniel Galindo, and nephew, Salomone Garcia.
