Annie I. Galyon was born May 24, 1936 in Lenoir City, Tennessee, to Luther Lawrence and Laura (Green) Galyon. She was the youngest of eight children. Annie was one of the first clients to work in the CARC Egg Production Plant. After that closed down, she was one of the first clients to work in Pecan Processing. Later, she worked as a nursery worker in the CARC, Inc. Country Store. She worked full-time right up to her passing. Annie was an Icon of CARC - one of the original clients. She always had the latest gossip and if you wanted to know what was going on, Annie was the one to ask. She didn't see herself as a senior citizen and didn't enjoy being around "them old people." Annie loved to bake brownies for her house mates. A favorite thing she looked forward to was going by and picking up a six-pack of diet coke her brother would leave on the porch at his home. Annie enjoyed shopping, going to the movies and out to eat. She often spent her weekends, holidays and vacations with CARC staff. She had a special bond with Johnie Kay Dunagan and an exceptional bond with Tammy Halpain and her family. Annie didn't have any teeth and refused to wear dentures, but that didn't keep her from eating just about anything she wanted. Annie had a beautiful smile and enjoyed meeting new staff. She acted like a mother to the other clients and always wanted to be the last one to go to bed at night.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Ed Galyon, Lloyd Galyon; sisters: Volena Wisenhutt, Oliva Galyon, Helen Cornett and Laura "Beth" McDonald.
Annie is survived by one brother: Jay Galyon and wife, Penny of Carlsbad, NM.
Pallbearers will be Jay Galyon, Frank Noland, Tony Halpain, Joseph Boeglin, Glen McDonald and Freddie Perez
Honorary Pallbearers will be CARC clients and staff - Annie's second family
