Ann Wright, 85, of Wilson Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away December 23, 2013 at her home. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2013, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 28, 2013, 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Randy C. Land officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ann Wright was born on December 24, 1927, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Ray Thomas and Bettie Mae (Sharrock) Boling. She grew up in Palava, Texas and later graduated high school from Sweetwater. On May 16, 1945, Ann married John Frank Wright in Sweetwater. In 1982, they retired in Carlsbad. Ann worked as a part-time secretary helping with church records and financial secretary at the First Baptist Church for 11 years. She was also very active in MAGIC, church outreach, and a director of a Sunday school class for several years. Ann was also a member of a 42 club. She enjoyed playing cards and sewing. Ann especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister, Bobbie Bailey. Survivors are her son, Tommy Ray Wright and wife, Cindy of Snyder, Texas; daughters: Brenda Kaye Nimitz and husband, Charles of Mansfield, Texas and Linda Faye Wilson and husband, Patrick of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Jaycie Ann Wright, Kate Ellen Wright, Corey Nimitz, Brent Nimitz, Cherish Fuller and husband, Danny, Clint Wilson and wife, Melinda and Jolene Rogers and husband, Cory; great-grandchildren: Paige Rogers, Clay Wilson, Blaine Wilson, Madison Fuller, Gavin Fuller, Jamieann Fuller and Tristan Fuller.
