Obituary Angelina Yturralde Vasquez, 103, of Irvin Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018 at her home. A vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 4, 2018 at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, October 5, 2018, 3:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Angelina was born June 22, 1915 in Artesia, New Mexico to Santana and Maria (Gomez) Yturralde. She moved to Carlsbad in 1922. Angelina was a member of San Jose Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Growing up in Carlsbad, she had to quit school early in order to help her father at home with the family. In 1939 she met and married her husband Jesus and began to raise her family. Angelina worked for the Carlsbad Municipal Schools in the Cafeterias for over 27 years she retired in 1989. She enjoyed her hobbies, sewing, cooking and baking. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Angelina was preceded in death by her parents and husband Jesus Vasquez and two sons: Eloy and Oswaldo Vasquez and five brothers and one sister. Survivors are daughter: Orrie Muniz and husband, Jack; sons: Orlando Vasquez, Eddy Vasquez and wife, Anna; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
