Andrew "Andy" G. Rocha

Andrew G. "Andy" Rocha, 66, of North Third Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away June 19, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home and 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at San Jose Catholic Church. A vigil is scheduled for Thursday, June 24, 2010, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 De Baca Street, Carlsbad, NM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, June 25, 2010, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Andrew G. "Andy" Rocha was born May 7, 1944 to Marcelino S. and Mercedes (Dominguez) Rocha. He was raised in Tularosa, NM. He moved to San Francisco, California where he met Alberta Griffin. They were married in November 1965. They moved to Carlsbad in 1968, where he worked at Kerr McGee and Duval/Western Ag. He retired in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alberta Rocha; daughter, Mary M. Rocha; sister, Dolores Hendrickson; brothers-in-law: Bill Brady, Harold Dixon; sister in-law, Cecilia Rocha and aunt, Adle Pino. Survivors are two daughters: Linda Morales and Alberta Melendrez of Carlsbad; five grandchildren: Remigio R. Morales, IV of Carlsbad, Mercedes Melendrez of Fresno, CA, Dalinda Skie Morales, JazMaine Melendrez, Andrew Melendrez all of Carlsbad; two great-grandchildren: Estrella R. Morales of Roswell, NM, Frederick C. Hernandez of Fresno, CA; three god-children: David Richardson of Tularosa, NM, Candida Mayo of Alamogordo, NM, Arlene Zuniga of Carlsbad, NM; five sisters: Rose Dixon, Virginia Lopez, Mary Brady, Flora Leal all of Tularosa, NM, Nelly Richardson and husband, David of Kaufman, TX; three brothers: Marceleno Rocha, Goyo Rocha, Paul Rocha and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sam Rocha, Mark Fernandez, Marcelino Hendrickson, Howard Hendrickson, David Richardson, Jr. and Ronald Richardson. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Richardson, Lionel Sandate, Danny Leos, Dan Rogers, Joe Martinez, Abel Martinez, Luis Romero, Paul Rocha, Tom Hernandez, Armando Molinar and Eli Duarte.
