Andrea J. Acevedo, 3418 Sunnyview Ave, Carlsbad, NM went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Andrea J. (Weisner) Acevedo was born November 13, 1963 in Tombstone, AZ to William Weisner and Mary Martha Escarcega. Andrea was the second oldest of the seven children her mother had, the oldest daughter. She loved helping her mother cook, clean and take care of her younger siblings. Andrea spent most of her childhood in San Manuel, AZ and graduated from San Manuel High School in 1981.
On February 14, 1986, Andrea met her soulmate, David J. Acevedo of Oracle, AZ. They got married on November 14, 1987 in Oracle, AZ. Shortly after the newlyweds moved to Carlsbad, NM, where David started his career with the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant and has worked there for the last 34 years.
On July 24, 1991, Andrea’s mother passed away leaving Andrea’s youngest brother Andrew J. Weisner at the age of 10. Andrea and David took in Andrew and raised him as their own. On March 24, 1992 (less than a year later), Andrea and David welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Briann Alyssa (Acevedo) Stevens into the world. On July 13, 2000 (8 years later) they also welcomed a precious baby boy, David Isaiah Acevedo. Andrea enjoyed the time she had at home being a housewife and raising her children which were her pride and joy.
Andrea’s cooking was known by her family and friends as her ultimate art. She was such a giving person and loved to bless people with food and baked goodies. She enjoyed playing music in her home and loved dancing. Andrea was such a wild spirit and life of the party. She was also a proud Nana and she treasured every moment she spent with her grandchildren, and loved spoiling them.
Andrea is survived by her husband, David Acevedo; three children and three grandchildren: son, Andrew J. Weisner (wife, Angie; son, AJ; daughter, Adalyn), daughter, Briann (Acevedo) Stevens (husband, Ryan; son, Leadon), son, David I. Acevedo; siblings: William Weisner, David Weisner, Charlene (Weisner) Urquijo, Greta (Weisner) Zazueta, Charles Weisner.

Cremation has taken place through Cremation Society of New Mexico. A memorial service will be held at Oasis Church on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM. For those wanting to send flowers, please send to 802 S. Main Street, Carlsbad, NM.
