Amelia "Amy" Renee Garavito

Amelia “Amy” Renee Garavito, 49, passed away at her home on October 19, 2021, in Phoenix, AZ. She was born on October 30, 1971, to Regina “Anna” Rodriguez and Raymond Rodriguez in Del Rio, Texas.

Amy moved to Carlsbad, NM at a young age and was surrounded by a large extended family. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1990. She then attended New Mexico State University. Amy worked well with the elderly and had great skills in the medical field. She had an undying love for her three children. Amy will be remembered for her love of rock music, dancing, going for morning walks, and watching her Dallas Cowboys play.
Cremation has taken place, and services for Amy will be on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at San Jose Catholic Church. The Rosary will be at 9:30 AM and followed by the Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at the Santa Catarina Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Amy is preceded in death by her parents and sister Ramona Rodriguez. She is survived by her daughter, Ari Rodriguez; grandchildren: Hailee DeAnda, Kyra DeAnda, Janie Burns, Dominic Godinez, and Xiomara Godinez of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Jacie Dean and grandsons James and Jacob Dean of Fort Worth, TX; son, Brandon Coleman of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Rosella Rodriguez of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.

Amy will be dearly missed by all her children, family, and friends.
