Amelia G. Lara

Amelia G. Lara, 65, of Loving, New Mexico, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017 in El Paso, Texas. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, New Mexico. A vigil is scheduled for 6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, May 18, 2017, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Cremation will take place following the services. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Amelia G. Lara was born February 27, 1952 in Carlsbad, NM to Fredrico and Delores (Granado) Lara. She enjoyed watching sports, especially softball and Los Angeles Lakers being two of her favorites. Amelia loved spending time with her family, especially her daughter. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Maurus. Amelia was also a member of the Legion of Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Antonio Lara and Jose Lara and sister, Rita Lara. Survivors are her daughter, Tina Louise Romero and fiance, Ryan Nichols of Carlsbad, NM; loving life partner, Cornelio Ferretez of Loving, NM; brothers: Manuel Lara of Loving, NM, Fredrico Lara, Jr. and wife, Elena of Otis, NM, Guadalupe Lara and wife, Maria of Carlsbad, NM, Mauro Lara and wife, Virginia of Loving, NM, Paul Lara of Loving, NM and Margarito Lara and wife, Patricia of Buckeye, Arizona; sisters: Francisca Hernandez and husband, Sotero, Andrea Parraz and husband, Alfredo, Rachel Lara, Rosario Lara and Mary Lara, all of Loving, NM. Pallbearers will be Manuel Lara, Fredrico Lara, Guadalupe Lara, Mauro Lara, Paul Lara, Margarito Lara and Ryan Nichols. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
