Amelia Fierro

Amelia Fierro, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered rest on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the age of 72. She was born on April 10, 1940 in Fort Davis, Texas. Amelia was preceded in death by her husband Louis, her son Orlando, her brother John R. Martinez and her parents Tony & Fay Martinez. She is survived by her two sons: Richard and Rudy Fierro; three grandchildren: Victoria Lopez, Veraunica Buendia and Louis Fierro; and four great-grandchildren: Jaelynn Lopez, Evan Buendia, P.J. Lopez and Madison Buendia; adopted brothers and sisters: Joe Martinez, Tony Martinez, Vera Sillas and Connie Sillas, numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of friends. She will be missed by all that knew her. Amelia was a long time member at Fox & Lake Church of Christ. She was best known for her cooking and baking talent. Amelia worked at Lakeview Christian Home over 25 years. She blessed many with birthday, shower, wedding and anniversary cakes. Amelia served others with kindness and compassion. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, 10:00 AM at the Fox and Lake Church of Christ with David Padilla officiating.
