Amanda Corral de Cuevas, 70, of Col. Zotecnia, Chihuahua, Mexico passed away Friday, August 24, 2012 at her son's home here in Carlsbad. Visitation will be 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM, Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at River of Life Fellowship. A Prayer Service is scheduled for Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 6:30 PM at River of Life Fellowship. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, August 30, 2012, 10:00 AM, at River of Life Fellowship with Pastor Ramon Florez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Amanda Corral de Cuevas was born December 10, 1941 in Riva Palacio, Chihuahua, Mexico to Cecilio Corral and Moncerrat Lopez (Perez) Regalado. She married at a young age and enjoyed raising her children. Amanda was an advocate in her home town in Chihuahua to improve their way of life through paving of street utilities. She loved to travel and spend time with her family. Amanda's hobbies included sewing. She never turned down the opportunity to share her love for Christ which Amanda expressed in her continual giving of her time, love, support and prayer. She had a passion for singing praises go God as well as dancing. She was preceded in death by her father, Cecilio Corral Regalado, husband, Hector Cuevas Guaderrama and a brother, Lazaro. Survivors are her mother, Moncerrat Lopez de Corral of Chihuahua; five children: Zoila Cuevas de Almanza and husband, Sergio, Hector H. Cuevas and wife, Cynthia, Alonso Cuevas Corral, Edmundo Cuevas Corral and wife, Sandra, Ivonne Azucena Cuevas Corral; 19 grandchildren: Emmanuel, Gerson, Stephanya, Eli, Alan, Hector, Jostin, Alonso, Karen, Sabastian, Angeleah, Brendon, Arielle Amanda, Zoe, Elisha, Josiah, Alyssa, Vanessa, Charlee; a great-grandaughter Eimy Sarahi; sisters: Rosa, Elena, Luz Alicia, Maria Angelica; brothers: Alvaro and Elias and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Alonso Cuevas Salcido, Emmanuel Cuevas Almanza, Gerson Cuevas Almanza, Elisha Florez, Josiah Florez and Frank Duran. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
