Amalio "Jr." Gonzales

Amalio “Jr.” Gonzales, 65, of Sioux Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away March 1, 2021 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Cremation will take place and no services will be held.

Amalio was born July 30, 1955 in Loving, NM to Amalio C. and Beatrice (Palma) Gonzales. He served his country in the US Army. Amalio married Margarita Buendia April 24, 1976 in Carlsbad. He began his career at the potash mines, taking medical retirement after 35 years of service. Amalio enjoyed hunting, fishing and was always ready to help his friends with outdoor projects. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jesse Amalio Gonzales; brothers: Jesse, Ray, Alfonso, Jerry and Hector Gonzales.
Survivors are his wife, Margie Gonzales; sons: Derek Gonzales and Rocky Gonzales and wife, Miranda; grandchildren: Mike Anthony Gonzales and Aimee Rose Gonzales; siblings: Leonora Gonzales, Henry Gonzales and wife, Petra and Ophelia Gonzales and several nieces and nephews.
