Alvie Lynn Warren was born in Gorman, Texas on December 10, 1942 to Alvie and Nancy Vocille (Hodges) Warren. Lynn went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the age of 70. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Warren. He moved to Carlsbad at age four and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1961. After graduation he enlisted in the U. S. Navy and served in Viet Nam. He worked at several of the potash mines; was part owner of B&W Welding/Fabrication, was a self employed rig welder and retired from Gas Company of NM.
Lynn loved to play and watch baseball. He was very involved in organizing the Girls Softball League in Carlsbad; and managed and coached Girls softball and Shorthorn teams for many years. He enjoyed RVing, fishing, being outdoors and spoiling his dogs, Benji and Penny.
He is survived by wife, Janice of the home; brother, Billy Warren and wife, Allene; son, Cory Warren of San Angelo, TX; daughter, Shauna Pirwitz and husband, Karl of Springfield, MO; step-children, Jalan Padilla and husband, Troy; Jeff Lawler and wife, Irma; Linda Wilson and husband, Clay all of Carlsbad, NM; Tammy Hawley and husband, Greg of San Angelo, TX; nieces: Kaitlan and Kassidy; grandchildren: Hunter, Brent, Brandon, Kara, Miguel, Jaidyn; mother-in-law, Verna Hensleyl; cousins: Jackie Wayne, Ray, Jimmy, Carl, and Ruthie of the Deleon, TX area and Bessie Steward and JoAnn Stevens.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned for a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
