Aline A. Kinsey, 83, of Dearborn Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away August 22, 2009 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2009, 2:00 PM, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Ed Meyers officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Ailene A. Kinsey was born November 10, 1925 in Durant, Oklahoma, the daughter of Albert A. and Ada A. (Cooper) Miller. She moved to Carlsbad in July 1946 where she married Gene A. Kinsey on August 2, 1946. The couple recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. She was employed by the Department of Motor Vehicles beginning in 1975 and served as the manager of the Carlsbad office for a number of years until her retirement in December 1987. She enjoyed camping in the mountains and spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Kinsey was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Eula Cullar of Sugarland, Texas and Dean Bruce of Durant, Oklahoma. She is survived by her husband, Gene A. Kinsey of Carlsbad, son, Dennis Kinsey and wife, June of Artesia; daughter, Sheryl Golden of Carlsbad; two grandsons: Sean Vickers and wife, Vickie of California and Jonathan Kinsey of Albuquerque; sister, Joyce Steele of Bentonville, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sean Vickers, Jonathan Kinsey, Mike Kinsey, Tony Bruce, Robert Armendarez and Bill Jordan. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
