Obituary Alicia P. Sotelo, 79, of Violet Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at Carlsbad Medical Center. A private graveside service heldat Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Alicia was born on June 21, 1940 in Cerro Alto Ojinaga, Mexico to Estanislao Palomares and Amelia (Casares) Palomares. She married Jose Sotelo, August 28, 1965. Alicia enjoyed dancing with her husband and going to the Casino. She also loved being with her family. Alicia was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jose Sotelo, Sr.; brothers: Antonio, Ramon, Anceho Palomares; sisters: Teresa Venegas and Mancimiana Galinda. Survivors are children: Elida Olivas, Amelia Quezada and husband, Javier; Annabella Hernandez and husband, Marcos; Jose Sotelo and wife, Cynthia; Juana Chavez and husband Juan, and Jesus Sotelo and wife Angela; 20 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren; sister: Piedad Chavarria; brothers: Santiago Palomares, Cornelio Palomares, Florenzio Palomares, and Valentine Palomares and numerous nieces and nephews.
