Obituary
Alicia T. Madrid, 84, of Primrose Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away September 23, 2019 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, Roswell, NM.
Visitation will be 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at San Jose Catholic Church. A vigil is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at San Jose Catholic Church. Liturgy of the Word service will take place at 3:30 PM, Thursday, September 26, 2019 at San Jose Catholic Church with Deacon Melvin Balderrama officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.
Alicia was born August 14, 1935 in Carlsbad, NM to Francisco and Juanita (Munoz) Terrazas. She married Manuel G. Madrid on March 23, 1953. Alicia was a teachers aide for numerous years. She was an amazing cook and loved to bake. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alicia was an amazing woman; she had a heart of gold.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Manuel G. Madrid; sons: Samuel and Tony Madrid and sisters: Zulema Juarez, Zenida Rodriquez and Connie Terrazas.
Survivors are her sons: Robert Bobby Madrid and wife, Rosaline of Las Cruces, NM, Henry Madrid and wife, Melissa of Carlsbad, NM, Orlando Lando Madrid and wife, Maria of Carlsbad, NM, Michael Madrid and wife, Patsy of Carlsbad, NM, Timothy Timo Madrid and wife, Elisa of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Nyleen Rico and husband, Eduardo Lalo, son, Timothy Madrid, Jr.; sisters: Helen Elizondo of Carlsbad, NM, Carmen Ebert of Pekin, IL; brother, Marian Terrazas and wife, Candy of Carlsbad, NM; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Lily Saiz of Carlsbad, NM, Violeta Alvarado of California and Marlouisa Madrid of Carlsbad, NM; brothers-in-law: Angel Madrid and Chente Madrid and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Madrid, Stephen Madrid, Orlando Madrid, Josh Madrid, Angel Madrid and Michael Proctor. Honorary pallbearers are Victor Madrid, Timothy Madrid, Jr., Michael Lil Mike Madrid, Theron Kirby, Mark Canales and Mariano Juarez.
